Journal and Uhm...music

Wed Dec 2, 2009, 7:17 PM
Alright, Ill start with an actual entry (that I expect no one to really read).
Lesse, I got my whit belt in Tae Kwn Do today, but I have mixed feelings on whether today was a good or bad day for me to test. On the good side, I got three hours of extra sleep today, seeing as I went to bed two hours early and woke up an hour late (Somehow sleeping through my alarm...OO ) but on the bad side, I got hurt today too. I was practicing basketball dribbling in my PE class, and a kid that was two times my size (height AND width) ran into me. He hit my left arm, and the ball hit my ribs, then when he stumbled, the bottom of his arm (He was hunched down to dribble lol) hit my left ribs again. I fell down right on top of my right arm, onto the wood floor. Its a good thing I didnt hit my head, but now my arms feel like theyre going to fall off and my left side ribs feel broken.

As for the second part, out of boredom I decided to make music reccomendations. Im a big music fan, so if theres a band you dont think I know (Im fond of lesser known bands, or songs by known bands that get NO attention that they deserve) feel free to make a comment about them and look into them.

Escape the Fate: This band is now becoming far more known, but I am very partial to two of their songs that are rather lesser known. Both are with their original singer, and one is on their debut album.
The Day I Left the Womb: [link] -A sad song about a defective family with he steriotypical roles of mother and father reversed in support. Last year thi song literally made me cry my eyes out for some reason or other.
The Ransom: [link]=D3w3Fa6vmPQ -I have NO idea why I like this song so much. Its good, just take my word for it an check it out.

Kathleen Edwards: An alternative country singer who goes more on the country side. She has MANY fantastic songs, though her better are far more mellow.
Six O'clock News: [link] -An ubeat sounding song, and the most popular off her first album. About someone with a dark past and hard life trying to turn themselves around and failing utterly. Touching because this DOES happen.
Mercury: [link] -Could only find it live, but this is the first song I ever heard by her. Haunting and wonderful, I love it.
Run: [link] -More live sorry, but this is a true story that is absolutley wonderful. Not going to tell you the story though haha...too much space would be taken up.

Bright Eyes: An older band that never caught on, despite how absolutley wonderful they are. Their songs range from War, suicide, and breakups/makeups. His voice is NOT what you usually hear.
No Lies, Just Love: [link] -Could find nothing better than this but covers. A very touching song thats rather sad, just listen. Its pretty long though.
[link]=PADNByfFKD8: An upbeat and rather touching song with a deep lesson.
Road to Joy: [link] -A fantstic song about war and society. One of my favorites, and I often find myself listening to it with the next song on the list:
Land Locked Blues: [link] -yet another song by with a great meaning. A bit longer again, but most of their good songs are.

Brand New: A band that indeedis older, but I still like them. You have a higher chance of knowing who they are, due to one of their songs cachin on. Recently they released a new album called Daisy, just a few months ago. I like their older music better however. Its hard to do this but, Ill pick on song from each of their four abums here.
ME Vs. Maradona Vs. Elvis: [link] -A sad song about a one night stand that the guy feels bad about, but not bad enough to stop. A bit long again.
Handcuffs: [link] -My favorite song form this album, and another mellow song. Its rather emotional I beleive...ad I do love the chorus line... "Its hard to be the better man..."
Seventy Times 7: [link] -A song about his girlfriend cheating on him with his best friend. great to listen to when youre mad. Its kinda funny because its a bit sarcastic. And cruel.
At The Bottom: [link] -A song from the newestalbum, I chose this more at random than everything else. I d really like this song though. It has a new feel to it.

Evans Blue: A rockband that recently replaced its wonderful singer with a new one. Their newest album isnot as good as the others, but it did in fact save itself with one absolutley phenominal song. All again try to pick one song from each of their three albums, though I encourage you t listen to more. If you like their oler sound better though, please check out Parabelle (spelling may be wrong) , as that is where their old singer went.
A Cross and a Girl Named Blessed: [link] -A rather brutal song form their first album that I do really love. tHis is one of my top Evans Blue songs actually...
Pin-Up: [link] -A more mellow song by Evans Blue. It was a tie between this and Kiss the Flag, but I went with this one. Take a look at Kiss the Flag if youre a patriot, its about war.
Bulletproof: [link] -The on phenominal song off of their most recent album, this one has a new singfer, but a lot of the old Evans blue style.

Alkaline Trio: Im not sure how popular they are, but I sure like them. Its funny how I found them though, but Im no up to telling the story at the moment. Ill only reccomend one song from them, because theyre not to-to good.
Calling All Skeletons: [link] -First song from this album. Like it, check out more of them. They have near the same sound.

Flyleaf: Anter minor note, as this is a well known band, but there is one, rather unknown song by them that should get more attention. Als, for those who like them and didnt know, they released a new album this year, a few weeks ago really.
Much Like Falling: [link] -A song about suicide, and how it may affect other people. Not to mention the killer bass at the begining. I WILL learn to pay it..someday.

Anberlin: A great band I found out of random Youtube browsing one day. Theyre more alternative rock, some songs with a heavier edge than others. And...well thats all I can think of to say on them for now, so enjoy. Im also not sure how popular they are now...
Soft Skeletons: [link] -A sad song about a girl who is very sick in the hospital and has had her eyes fixed on the cure. Again, its more touching because tings like this happen.
Hello Alone: [link] -First Anberlin song I heard, I still like this song immnsly.
Amsterdam: [link] -A mello song about a breakup. It also may go by the name A Symphony of (Blase)

Bayside: One of my two favorite bands for some odd reason, this band just stuck with me, making a huge impression on me. Im nt sure how oyu would classify them, alternative maybe? Either way, Im a fan of this band BIG time, and Its hard just picking a few songs fom them. Ill try to settle on threee, to keep the list short....ish.
Dear Your Holiness: [link] -Off of The Walking Wounded, I like this song in a close second to Landing Feet First, but this song has a deeper meaning and shows more of Baysides usual style, so I decided to go with this one for now.
Demons- [link]=D25gmfN9VWs -Ah, one of the better songs of of Shudder, and it strikes a meaning with me in a way, the 'you dont love you anymore' part. It reminds me of who I was last year.
Blame it on bad Luck- [link] -I like this song, but its one of their more popular songs. ..Nothig else really to say I guess.

The last for now, Ill probably post more music later...

Suzanne Vega: Wow. Shes from like...the eigties, which are usually notorious for HORRIBLE music, but shes really good. Another country-ish singer, most of her songs are mellow, but Ill only be showningn her two songs that seem to fit together almost into a series.
The Queen and the Soldier: [link] -Sorry, more live, but this is the first of her series song, a fantasy scene that plays out in this song. I can somehow picture this in my head while she sings this.
Knight Moves: [link] -The second song that could fit together into a series. It tells more about the Queen I beleive, and whats behind her mind and eyes perhaps.

Thats all the music for now...might post more later, its kinda my passion, music is. Maybe Ill cover some J-Rock next time too...
